"We are able to mobilize all of this in a coordinated way because of an earlier investment from the Hawaii Community Foundation to support purchasing a software called DARCI. This has allowed for centralized intake of requests coming in both directly from community and also referred to us from Hawaii County Civil Defense. We are actively adding nonprofit partners and responding agencies into this platform to allow us to quickly send referrals out. Just yesterday, sending 200 referrals to Hawaii Animal to help folks with pet related needs and sending well over 100 referrals out to Team Rubicon to help with chainsaw and debris removal. It's this kind of coordination that is marrying both technology and skillsets from resources and organizations that is putting us that much ahead of the game in this immediate response phase."
